Laput At Large #3 June 30, 2005 289 Cinnabar Way Hercules, CA 94547 BACKGROUND: The Board of Supervisors established the Arts & Culture Commission in December 1994 to advise the Board in matters and issues relevant to arts and culture and to promote arts and culture as a vital element in the quality of life for all of the citizens of the County. The Commission consists of nine members: four At Large members and one member appointed by each Supervisorial District. The Internal Operations Committee reviews appointments to the four At Large seats. At its September 17 meeting, the Internal Operations Committee reviewed and approved the Commission's nomination to reappoint Ms. Laput, and now recommends approval of this nomination to the Board of Supervisors. Laput of Hercules be reappointed to the open At-Large Commissioner position. It is the hope of the Commission that the Internal Operations Committee will approve this recommendation and forward the name of Ms. Laput to the Board of Supervisors for appointment to the Arts and Culture Commission.
