SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Deputy Director - Redevelopment to execute a contract
amendment between the Redevelopment Agency and Goldfarb & Lipman to extend the term
of the existing contract for legal consulting services through December 31, 2001.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The contract is being billed on a time and materials basis. Agency funds have been budgeted
to cover the costs through the specified time period.
BACKGROUND:
The legal firm of Goldfarb & Lipman has previously been retained as Redevelopment Agency
Legal Counsel and has been providing these services via a consultant contract. The firm has
provided very satisfactory services in the realms of redevelopment plans for the Pleasant Hill
BART, Bay Point, North Richmond and Rodeo Project Areas, and general administration and
Agency operation. As there are previously budgeted funds remaining in the current contract,
staff recommends that the contract term be extended through 7b7e 1 001.
