THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
Adopted this Order on November 29, 1983 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Powers , Fanden, McPeak, Torlakson, Schroder
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None
SUBJECT: Approving Participation in U. S. Geological Survey Cooperative Water
Resources Investigation Program. Project No. 7505-6F8155, County-Wide.
The U. S. Geological Survey and the Flood Control District have been sharing
the maintenance costs on the stream gages on San Ramon Creek at San Ramon, Little
Pine Creek near Mt. Diablo and Wildcat Creek at Richmond under the U. S. Geological
Survey Cooperative Water Resources Investigation Program.
The Chief Engineer having reported that the district's costs under the
program is $6,600 for FY 1983-84; and
The Chief Engineer having recommended that the Flood Control District
continue in the Cooperative Water Resources Investigation Program and that he
be authorized to arrange for the issuance of a warrant for said district cost
share;
IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED, as the governing body of Contra Costa County
Flood Control and Water Conservation District, that the recommendation of the
Chief Engineer is APPROVED.

SUBJECT: Accepting Abandoned Marsh Creek Stream Gage. Project No. 7505-6F8155,
Brentwood.
The usefulness of the Marsh Creek gaging station for hydrologic stream
gaging has been seriously diminished due to the presence of Marsh Creek Dam down-
stream; consequently, the Flood Control District and the U. S. Geological Survey
believe this station should be eliminated from the cooperative water resource
investigation program.
The Chief Engineer having reported that the gaging house and cable way
have a value to the district in the development of flood routing data and that
the U. S. Geological Survey has indicated that they will relinquish their gage
house and cable way to the Flood Control District; and
The Chief Engineer having recommended that he be authorized to execute
a letter requesting relinquishment of the gage house and cable way to the district;
IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED, as the governing body of Contra Costa County
Flood Control and Water Conservation District, that the recommendation of the
Chief Engineer is APPROVED.
