SUBJECT: Presentation of County Service Award to Tiesha Givens, Health
Services Department
IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that the presentation of a County
Service Award to Tiesha Givens, for 20 years of service in the Health
Services Department is ACCEPTED.

In the Matter of Resolution No. 2001/422
RECOGNIZING THE
BETHEL ISLAND YOUTH MAC
WHEREAS, the ten member Bethel Island Youth MAC was formed on September 10,
2001 with an objective to develop the youth of Bethel Island through many programs that
encourage the ability of its members to do things for themselves and their community; and
WHEREAS, one of the major objectives is to develop citizenship and leadership in the
youth of Bethel Island through community involvement; and
WHEREAS, the Bethel Island Youth MAC, as well as the adult volunteers, should most
certainly be recognized for their pledge to provide their involvement to leadership and provide
their community with a wide range of vital services and ideas in the time to come; and
WHEREAS, Contra Costa County recognizes the significant influence achieved by the
youths, which will enable them to channel the energies and enthusiasm of so marry people of all
ages.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra
Costa County, hereby proclaims its support and publicly commends the Bethel Island Youth
MAC for their inspired efforts on behalf of their community and themselves. We, also, urge all
citizens of Contra Costa County and their community to recognize the merits of this cause and to
give generously of their knowledge and support.
