Financial Impact: The estimated contract cost of the project is $288,000, funded by Hazard Elimination Safety Grant and State Local Match Funds. III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background: The project is needed to assist the driving public who are turning onto or off of Highway 4 as Sellers Avenue by restriping and signalizing the intersection. The Public Works Director has filed with the Board of Supervisors the Plans and Specifications for the project. The general prevailing rates of wages, which shall be the minimum rates paid on this project, have been filed with the Clerk of the Board and copies will be made available to any interested party upon request. The Board reviewed and approved the project on April 4, 2000 and determined the project to be exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act as a Class 1c Categorical Exemption. A Notice of Exemption was filed with the County Clerk on April 6, 2000. IV. Consequences of Negative Action: If the project is not approved for advertising, it will not be constructed. Engineer's cost estimate: $288,000 THIS PROJECT HAS A GOAL OF 15.4% PERCENT DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISE(DBE)PARTICIPATION. A pre-bid meeting will be held on Monday, October 1, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. at the Public Works Department to cover DBE requirements. Prospective bidders attendance is recommended but not mandatory. Contract Documents, including plans and specifications, may be viewed and/or obtained at the Public Works Department, C.C. Rich Building, 255 Glacier Drive, Martinez, California 94553- 4897, Monday - Thursday (7:00 a.m. - 12 Noon and 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.) (closed Fridays).
