Project No.: 0662-6U4094-01, [CP# 01-42] DATE: September 11, 2001 PAGE 2 II. Financial Impact: Estimated cost is $50,000 (100% Road Funds). III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background: A. On July 24, 2001, the Board of Supervisors declared an emergency and authorized the Public Works Director to proceed in the most expeditious manner to repair the Bridge. B. Repair status: The proposed solution uses sections of a prefabricated Bailey style bridge to span the creek. Steel decking has been ordered. Maintenance crews will partially assemble the bridge at the County yard on Waterbird Way. Hess Construction Company has been contacted to determine their availability to construct the foundation and install the bridge. IV. Consequences of Negative Action: A negative action would slow the process of the replacement structure and would cause the project to be delayed to 2002.
