HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 09112001 - C.164 TO: BOARD OF SUPERVISORS FROM: William Walker, M.D. , Health Services Director + By: Ginger Marieiro, Contracts Administrator — ' Contra Costa August 15 2001 '' DATE: 9 ► r-----Ceo-- cT County SUBJECT: Approval of Novation Contract #22-402-8 with City of Richmond (Fire Department) SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve and authorize the Health Services Director or his designee (Lewis Pascalli) to execute, on behalf of the County, Novation Contract #22-402-8 with City of Richmond (Fire Department) , for the period from July 1, 2001 through June 30, 2003 , in an amount not to exceed $300, 200, for support of the City of Richmond Fire Department ' s Hazardous Materials Response Unit . This document includes an automatic six-month extension through December 31, 2003 , in an amount not to exceed $78 , 550 . FINANCIAL IMPACT: This Contract is included in the Health Services Department ' s Budget and is funded by .AB 2185 inspection fees . REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND: On February 15, 2000, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #22-402-7 to maintain a Hazardous Materials Response Unit in West County, for the period from July 1, 1999 through June 30 , 2001 (which included a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2001) . Novation Contract #22-402-8 replaces the six-month automatic extension under the prior Contract and will allow the City of Richmond to continue providing these services through June 30, 2003 .
