SUBJECT: APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to
AMEND contract with Mr. Steve Gray (421-644-1) for Domestic Violence Liaison services,
increasing the payment limit from $26,800 to $50,000, an increase of$23,200 for the period
of July 1, 2001 through June 30, 2002.

RECOMMENDED ACTION-
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to AMEND
contract with Mr. Steve Gray (#21-644-1) for Domestic Violence Liaison services, increasing the payment
limit from $26,800 to $50,000, an increase of$23,200 for the period of July 1, 2001 through June 30, 2002.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
$50,000 Domestic Violence, as mandated by the Board's Zero Tolerance Initiative, an increase of$23,200;
100% County.

This contract directly supports three community outcomes established in the Children's Report Card: 2)
"Children and Youth Healthy and Preparing for Productive Adulthood"; 4) "Families that are Safe, Stable,
and Nurturing"; 5) "Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and
Families." The domestic violence liaison matches clients with community resources, trains EHSD staff, and
develops interventions, including safety plans for women and children,.for those affected by domestic
violence.
RACKGRO INDs
Mr. Gray will provide additional services to Children and Family Services (CFS) as domestic violence
liaison. This position improves Employment and Human Services Department services by facilitating the
Children and Family Services Bureau's interfacing with agencies that address domestic violence in and near
Contra Costa County.
Under this contract, Mr. Gray will provide additional domestic violence case-specific consultation, guidance,
and support to EHSD CFS staff, develop interventions that include safety plans for family members affected
by domestic violence, develop domestic violence staff procedures, training, and assessment tools, and assist
in domestic violence training.
