SUBJECT: Approval of Contract Amendment Agreements #24-429-28 and #24-617-19
with Ujima Family Recovery Services
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION(S) :
A. Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee
(Chuck Deutschman) to. execute on behalf of the County, Contract
Amendment Agreement #24-429-28, effective July 1, 2000, to amend
Contract #24-429-26 (as amended by Administrative Amendment
Agreement #24-429-27) with Ujima Family Recovery Services, to
increase the Payment Limit by $11, 636 from $776, 477 to a new total
Payment Limit of $788, 113 and to increase the Automatic Extension
Payment Limit by $5, 818, from $388, 238 to a new total of $394, 056;
and
B. Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee
(Chuck Deutschman) to execute on behalf of the County, Contract
Amendment Agreement #24-617-19, effective July 1, 2000, to amend
Contract #24-617-17 (as amended by Administrative Amendment
Agreement 424-617-18) with Ujima Family Recovery Services, to
decrease the Payment Limit by $11, 636 from $483 , 703 to a new total
Payment Limit of $472 , 067 and to decrease the Automatic Extension
Payment Limit by $5, 818, from $241, 851 to a new total of $236, 033 .
FISCAL IMPACT:
None . These Contracts are funded by Federal , State and County funds, and
were included in the Department ' s Fiscal Year 2000-2001 budget . There is
no change in the combined payment limit of $1, 260, 180 .
BACKGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S) :
On June 27, 2000, the Board of Supervisors approved cost-of-living increases
for certain contractors, including Ujima Family Recovery Services, for
Fiscal Years 1999-2000 and 2000-2001 . The cost-of-living increases were
projected, based on services provided during Fiscal Year 1999-2000 . When
the Contracts were renewed for Fiscal Year 2000-2001, certain residential
recovery services were transferred from Contract #24-617-17 (as amended by
Administrative Amendment Agreement #24-617-18) to Contract #24-429-26 (as
amended by Administrative Amendment Agreement #24-429-27) .
Approval of Contract Amendment Agreements #24-429-28 and #24-617-19 will
reallocate cost-of-living funds provided to this Contractor and will adjust
the Contract Payment Limits by $11, 636 to accurately reflect the actual
services provided to County' s clients, through June 30, 2001 .
