HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 11151983 - T.2 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order on November 15, 1983 , by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Fanden, Torlakson, Schroder NOES: None ABSENT: Supervisors Powers, McPeak F,BSTAIN: None SUBJECT: Hearing on Recommendation of the San Ramon Valley Area Planning Commission on Rezoning Application 2566-RZ and Development Plan 3033-83, Filed by Homestead Development Co. , San Ramon Area. The Board on November 8, 1983, having continued to this time its hearing on the recommendation of the San Ramon Valley Area Planning Commission on rezoning application 2566-RZ and Development Plan No. 3033-83 filed by Homestead Development Co. , San Ramon area, to rezone land from General Agriculture District (A-2) to Planned Unit Development (P-1) and approval of Development Plan No. 3033-83 for a maximum of 170 units residential condominiums; and Harvey Bragdon, Assistant Director of Planning, having described the property site and having advised that a Negative Declaration of Environmental Significance was filed for the proposal; and The Chairman having opened the public hearing and Mr. Fred W. Hall having appeared on behalf of Homestead Development Co. Inc. , and having described the project and having urged the Board to approve the application; and The following persons having appeared to express their opposition to the project: William Walters, 415 20th Street, Oakland, California, an attorney representing Albert Sayers a resident of Barbados Drive, who presented a petition containing approximately 112 signa- tures opposing the proposed rezoning and Development Plan; Steve Geddy, 3425 Lanai Drive, San Ramon, California; John Valpergo, 102 Somoa Court, San Ramon, California; Tom Lane, 82 Molokai Court, San Ramon, California; Dave Ziegler, 2374 Barbados Drive, San Ramon, California; Jim Brennan, 87 Molokai Court, San Ramon, California; and Mr. Fred W. Hall having appeared in rebuttal to address some of the concerns expressed by the citizens in the neighboring area, and having commented that he felt the proposed Planned Unit Development would be an asset to the community largely due to the affordability of the proposed units and having urged the Board to approve the rezoning application and Development Plan; and The Chairman having declared the public hearing closed; and Supervisor Schroder having recommended that the matter be deferred until the Board' s meeting of November 29, 1983, in order to allow the Board members time to consider the proposal in further depth. 246 The Board having discussed the matter , IT IS ORDERED that the decision on rezoning application 2566-RZ and Development Plan No. 3033-83 is DEFERRED to November 29, 1983, at 2: 30 p.m. I hereby certify that this Is a true end correct copy Of an action takes and enforod on. ttss minutes of the Or ig Dept: Clerk of the Board Board of Supervisors on the date shown. cc: Director of Planning ATTESTED: Public Works Director County Counsel J.R.
