SUBJECT: LEASE FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT
2105 ABBOTT AVENUE, PITTSBURG ( BUILDING #WLP466)
SPECIFIC REQUESTS OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. RECOMMENDATION
APPROVE a Lease commencing August 15, 2001, with the City Of Pittsburg for the premises at
2105 Abbott Avenue, Pittsburg, CA for occupancy by Susan Angela Rodriguez, under the terms
and conditions more particularly set forth in said lease, and AUTHORIZE the Director of General
Services to EXECUTE said Lease on behalf of the County.
II. FINANCIAL IMPACT
This is a County owned building that has been rehabilitated for the City of Pittsburg Housing
Authority Section 8 Program. There is no financial impact to the County.
III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION / BACKGROUND
Provide for use of existing, County owned property, to be used as "low-cost" housing in
conjunction with the City Of Pittsburg and the Pittsburg Housing Authority.
Originally, the Public Works Department purchased the house as part of the Highway 4
Widening Project. The Tenant will be displaced from her current housing (2101 Abbott Avenue,
which is to be demolished for the Highway 4 Project) which is in the City of Pittsburg, Housing
Authority Section 8 Program. The Section 8 Certificate is being transferred to 2105 Abbott
Avenue.
