HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07242001 - C.70 TO: BOARD OF SUPERVISORS .�� 6 FROM: William Walker, M.D. , Health Services Director ' By: Ginger Marieiro, Contracts Administrator "" ' Contra :s Costa July 11, 2001 .` DATE: n�sr—ed)V'" County SUBJECT: Approval of Contract #74-016-2 with Community Violence Solutions SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION(S) : Approve and authorize the Health Services Director or his designee (Donna Wigand) to execute on behalf of the County, Contract #74-016-2 with Community Violence Solutions (formerly Rape Crisis Center) in an amount not to exceed $355, 738, to provide day rehabilitation treatment and mental health services for Seriously Emotionally Disturbed (SED) Children in Central County, for the period from July 1, 2001 through June 30, 2002 . FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 16 . 6% by Federal Medi-Cal Revenue, 15 . 7% by State EPSDT funds, and 67 . 7% by Challenge Grant Funding through the Probation Department . CHILDREN' S IMPACT STATEMENT: This Circle of Care Program .supports the following Board of Supervisors ' community outcomes : "Children Ready For and Succeeding in School" ; "Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing" ; and "Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families" . Expected program outcomes include an increase in positive social and emotional development as measured by the Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale (CAFAS) and Youth Self Report (YSR) . BACKGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S) : This Contract meets the social needs of County' s population in that it provides day treatment and mental health services for adolescent girls with emotional and behavioral problems to improve school performance, reduce unsafe behavioral practices, and reduce the need for out-of-home placements . On December 19, 2000, the Board of Supervisors approved Novation Contract #74-016-1 with Rape Crisis Center for the period from July 1, 2000 through June 30, 2001 for the provision of day rehabilitation treatment and mental health services for Seriously Emotionally Disturbed (SED) Children in Central County.
