Antioch, CA 94509 RICHARD LUJAN 3810 Crestview Drive Pittsburg, CA 94565 BACKGROUND: The Advisory Housing Commission of the Contra Costa County Housing Authority has seven positions, five of which serve at-large for a four year period and two of which serve as tenant commissioners for a two year period. On March 31, 2000, two of the at-large and two tenant commissioner positions expired. All of the commissioners being recommended for reappointment expressed their desire to continue to serve on the Commission. At the recommendation of the Housing Authority Executive Director, the Internal Operations Committee approved the appointments at its September 11, 2000 meeting and now recommends the appointments to the Board of Supervisors. The two at-large Commissioners serving on the Advisory Housing Commission, whose terms expired on March 31, 2000, are: 1. Mr. George T. Brown 22 Ichabod Lane Orinda, CA 94563 Mr. Brown was originally appointed on August 16, 1988. He was re-appointed, for the third time, on June 3, 1996. 2. Mr. Richard Lujan 3810 Crestview Drive Pittsburg, CA 94565 Mr. Lujan was originally appointed on April 29, 1986. He was re-appointed, for the fourth time on June 3, 1996. The two tenant Commissioners serving on the Advisory Housing Commission, whose terms expired on March 31, 2000, are: 1. Ms. Julie Medina 112 Cordova Way#19 Concord, Ca 94519 Ms. Medina was originally appointed on July 21, 1991 to complete an unfinished term. She was appointed to her first full term on April 7, 1992 and was re-appointed for a fourth term on March 27, 1998. 2. Ms. Geneva Green 2100 Buchanan Road, C-504 Antioch, CA 94509 Mrs. Green was originally appointed on March 7, 2000 to complete an unfinished term. She is now seeking reappointment for a two-year period. When I first Interviewed to be In the board i didn't have any responsibilities. So I took this as my responsibility. I had just graduated from high school and I didn't have any plans on what to do next. Then I started to find out about the colleges and I got interested In a college. Now I'm enrolled at Heald College as full time student and I have a part time job. 1 have a full schedule and have no time to attend the meetings for the board. I have informed the board that I attend college and that I excused myself for not being at the other meetings. Now the reason for the letter Is that I want to resign my position as a Substance Abuse Advisory Board. I really enjoyed helping my community, but right now I want to focus on my education.
