FISCAL IMPACT: $5, 000, if the County does the abatement. BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS: On March 6, 2000, a complaint was received regarding junkyard conditions. A Notice to Comply was issued on April 6, 2000 for junkyard conditions and metal- framed tent structures built without permits. Progressive site inspection of the property from march 20, 2000 to June 26, 2000, revealed some junkyard materials and storage batteries had been removed but as of June 26, 2000 no further progress of removing junkyard conditions have been made. No permit has been issued for the two (2) metal-framed tent structures in the yard area of the property. July 11, 2000, the property was posted under the following County ordinance: Title 7, Chapter 74-1.002 (1_06. 1 UBC 1997) (Building without permits) Title 8, Chapter 88-4 .402 (Junkyard conditions) The owner of the property has been notified of the violations through written correspondence and certified mail. As of this date, compliance has not been gained. on July 11, 2000, the Building Inspection Department declared the property a public nuisance and posted a Notice Order to Abate under Title 1, Chapter 14 .6.
