FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded by Contra Costa Health Plan (Health Plan) member premiums . Costs depend upon utilization. As appropriate, patients and/or third party payors will be billed for services . BACKGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S) : The Health Plan has an obligation to provide certain specialized professional health care services for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the County. On August 3, 1999, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #27-314-2 with Alok Bhattacharyya, M.D. , Inc. , for the period from July 1, 1999 through June 30, 2000 . Approval of Contract #27-314-3 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide professional neurology services to Contra Costa Health Plan members, through June 30, 2001 . BACKGROUNDIREASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATIONS: On August 3 , 1999, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-313- 2, with Marcelle Indelicato, for the period from August 1, 1999 through July 31, 2000, to provide consultation and technical assistance to the Department with regard to administrative analysis and project management services for various programs, including, but not limited to, the Industrial Rehabilitation Program and the Transportation Program. Approval of Contract #26-313-3 , will allow Contractor to continue providing services through July 31, 2001 . FINANCIAL IMPACT: This Contract will increase the Contract Payment Limit by $7, 200, from $50, 400 to a new total payment of $57, 600 . Cost to the County depends upon utilization. As appropriate patients and/'or third party payors will be billed for services. REASONS FOR RECOMME1WAT10S/BACKGR0=: On June 20, 2000, the Board of Supervisors approved Medical Specialist Contract #26-953-1 with Dennis Beckley, M.D. , to conduct, interpret, and evaluate Electromyogram (EMG) readings for neurology patients at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center, for the period from July 1, 2000 through June 30, 2001. Due to a mutual mistake of the parties, the Fee Schedule did not accurately reflect the oral agreement between the parties, which was that the Contractor would provide General Neurology clinical coverage and on- call General Neurology coverage services, in addition to his existing Electromyogram (EMG) services. FINANCIAL IMPACT: Funding is provided through grants from the Family Preservation Family Support Program, the County Office of Education, the Zellerbach Family Fund as well as from Community Approach Award money. BACKGROUNDIREASON(M FOR RECOMMENDATION(S): The Servide Integration Program's two neighborhood employment projects, Bay Point Works and the North Richmond Employment Collaborative, are overseeing the Bay Point and North Richmond Youth Digital Academy 2000. Through this project, 19 Bay Point, North Richmond and "Old Town" San Pablo youth between the ages of 14-18 will participate in a 10-week training program on video production and simultaneously create two 30-minute documentary films on the history of their communities and create two neighborhood history exhibits to be displayed in their communities.
