The background information for this necessary action is as follows: A contract amendment to increase the payment limit on this contract by $117,724 was approved by the Board of Supervisors effective February 1, 2000 (Ca1WORKS funds, contract#24-617-13). Subsequently, we submitted another contract amendment to increase the payment limit by an additional $158,088 in Ca1WORKS funds for supplementary activities. This amendment was approved by the Board effective March 1, 2000 (Ca1WORKS funds, contract#24-617-14). These two amendments should have increased Ujima's payment limit by a total of$275,812. Inadvertently, instead of increasing Ujima's payment limit by an additional $158,088, the contract was increased by only $40,364, to equal a total increase of$158,088 (and not the required total of $275,812). Neither CSAS staff nor Ujima staff caught the error at the time of the March amendment. The additional $117,724 in funds is requested at this time to provide necessary payments to Ujima for completed services and activities. • Contra Costa Comminity Substance Abuse Services Contra Costa Emergency Medical Services Contra Costa Environmental Health Contra Costa Heath Plan ,, Contia Costa Hazaraeus Materials Png rams Contra Costa Me-)-al Health Contra Costa Public yealtn Contra Costa Regonal Medical Center Ccntra Costa Realth Centers TO: BOARD OF SUPERVISORS "' ' `414• William Walker, M.D., Health Services Director FROM: By: Ginger Marieiro, Contracts AdministratorOHue Contra Costa DATE: July 10, 2000 County SUBJECT: Approval of Contract #24-949-67 (2) with Portia Belhavioral Health and Training Center SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)3 BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RI COMMSNDSDA+CTIQN Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Donna Wigand), to execute on behalf of the County, Contract #24-949-67 (2) with Portia Bell Hume Behavioral Health and Training Center, for the period from July 1, 2000 through June 30, 2001, to provide Medi-Cal mental health specialty services, to be paid as set forth below: a.
