RECOMMENDATION FIX Tuesday, August 8, 2000 at 9.00 a.m. for a public hearing to establish fees for fixed and mobile vendors at County facilities. 111. FINANCIAL IMPACT Recommended initial fees for Fixed and Mobile Vendors will cover staff costs to develop and process the applicable License Agreements. Fee scale for Fixed Vendors represent potential new source of revenues. Ili. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION /BACKGROUND On April 18, 2000, your Board approved the Policy for Fixed and Mobile Vendors Retail Sale of Food and/or Beverages at County facilities and requested that the General Services Director return with a fee schedule. It is recommended that all Fixed and Mobile Food Vendors pay an initial fee of$300.00 to cover staff costs for development of the applicable License Agreements. The approved policy provides that Fixed Food Vendors- shall pay a monthly fee. It is recommended that the monthly fee for Fixed Vendors be based on monthly gross sales receipts as follows. Orig:General Services Department-UM ATTESTED 25 00 PH SATCHEL CLERK OF T:BOARD OFS ERVISORS NO COUNTY ARATOR BY a� DEPUTY ��Owt IN THE MATTER OF PROCLAIMING RESOLUTION NO. 2000/344 AUGUST 12 AND 13, 2000 AS arrt A TXT-r F STRAIT WEEKENHe' IN CONTRA COSTA COUNTY WHEREAS, the CARQUINE'ZREGIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION CENTER was incorporated in August, 1995,as a public interest charity to effect habitat and species enhancement in the communities around the Carquinez Strait; and WHEREAS,CREEC is a volunteer organization dedicated to the betterment of the area"s natural resources through cooperative partnerships between residents,businesses, schools,agencies and industries around the Strait, and WHEREAS, on August 12 and. 13,2000, CREEC will host the FOURTH ANNUAL SCENE ON THE STRAIT celebrating the beauty of the Carquinez Strait as seen through its painters; and WHEREAS, there is a long tradition of plein--air(out-of-doors)painting in California going back to the turn of the century; and WHEREAS, twenty-two regional plein-air painters will paint live on location at the FOURTH ANNUAL SCENE ON THE STRAIT at the Martinez Regional Shoreline and in the historic town of Martinez and exhibit paintings of scenes around the Strait and Bay Area at a show and sale near the waterfront;and WHEREAS, both days of the celebration will feature a native plant sale,Mediterranean foods, strolling musicians, and displays reflecting the area's rich cultural and environmental heritage;and WHEREAS, Scene on the Strait is sponsored by local and regional businesses and organizations. The proceeds from the Third Annual Scene on the Strait were used to fund CREEC's habitat restoration programs by at-risk high school youth. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County hereby proclaims the weekend of August 12 and 13.2000 as PAINT THE STRAIT 6YEElI END.
