1 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Honoring the BLUE DEVILS ON THEIR ) TENTH WORLD ) RESOLUTION NO. 99/453 CHAMPIONSHIP ) WHEREAS, THE BLUE DEVILS organization has served over 5,000 youth since its founding in 1957; and WHEREAS, THE BLUE DEVILS offer a learning and performance experience through nine programs for young people, ages four to twenty-one, teaching them the value of competitive excellence through the discipline of the arts; and WHEREAS, THE BLUE DEVILS are the most decorated drum and bugle cords in the Drum Corps International twenty-eight year history, holding four more World Championship titles than their closest competitors; and WHEREAS, THE BLUE DEVILS Drum & Bugle Corps have captured a history making tenth World Championship award; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors honors THE BLUE DEVILS on their 10ih World Championship and wishes them continued success.
