HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 11011983 - 1.6 (3) /'60 TO: BOARD OF SUPERVISORS FROM: M. G. Wingett, County Administrator Contra Costa DATE: October 27, 1983 County SUBJECT: Clarification of Ambulance Contract Extensions for East County and Antioch Ambulance Companies SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) B BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION REQUEST: Clarify decision made by the Board October 25, 1983 to extend contracts with East Contra Costa and Antioch Ambulance Companies for thirty (30) days was intended to extend such contracts through November 30, 1983 in order to provide the Board with the opportunity to review the matter further on November 29, 1983. BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION: On October 25, 1983, the Board voted to extend the existing contracts with East Contra Costa and Antioch Ambulance Companies for thirty (30) days. This would make the contracts expire on November 27, since the existing contracts expire on October 28. There will be no Board meeting on November 22 because of the Thanksgiving holiday on November 24 and 25. Therefore, the Board would have to act on these contracts on November 15. This does not appear to provide sufficient time for the consultations which have been directed by the Board. We are, therefore, suggesting that the Board direct that the contracts expire on November 30 to provide an opportunity for the Board to consider the issue on November 29.
