SUBJECT: Amending Child Care Institution Rate Schedule RESOLUTION NO. 83/1127

SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION
Amend Board Resolution No. 831892 establishing rates to be paid to child care institutions
for FY 1983-84 to include Martin 's Children's Achievement Place at $1,810 per month
effective the day following Board action.
BACKGROUND •- 01
Martin 's Children's Achievement Place, P. 0. Box 932, Carmichael , CA 95609, consists of
three group homes located in the suburbs of Sacramento. These non-profit, BAPC approved
homes are licensed by the State Department of Social Services for 18 boys and girls (6 in
each home) , 8 to 18 years of age.
Children are accepted who have major emotional and social adjustment problems and the
program centers around providing the children with a structured living situation with
consistency in care, expectations, nurturing, rewards and discipline. Group and
individual counseling are an important aspect of the program.
It is recommended that this facility be added to the approved list of child care
institutions for the placement of dependent and delinquent children.
