FINANCIAL IMPACT: This Contract is included in the Health Services Department' s Budget and is funded by AB 2185 inspection fees . REASONS FOR R Cts E DATIONS ZBACKGRO` ND: On March. 17, 1998, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract 422-276-11 with the City of Richmond (Fire Department) , for the period from July 1, 1997 through June 30, 1998 (which included a one-year automatic extension through June 30, 1999) , to provide AB 2185 inspections . This purpose of this amendment is to extend the Contract so that services are not disrupted, pending final negotiations between the Department' s Hazardous Materials Divisions and the City of Richrrond. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #22-275-12 will allow the Contractor to continue providing services under the autocratic extension, through December 31, 1999 . Weiss, M,D. , for the period from January 15, !999 through January 31, 2000, for the provision of General Surgery services . At the request of the County, far. Weiss has agreed to provide additional on- call General Surgery coverage, in addition to his regular on-call coverage services for Contra Costa. Regional. Medical Center and Contra Costa. Health Centers, while the Depart-rent continue .its recruitment process to hire a full time General Surgeon. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement 26-9014-9, will allow Dr. Weiss to be properly compensated for additional on-call. General Surgery services provided through January 31, 2000 .
