THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order on September 22, 1998 , by the following vote: AYES: SUPERVISORS UILKEMA, GERBER, DESAULNIER, CANCIAMILLA and ROGERS NOES: NONE ABSENT: NONE ABSTAIN: NONE In the Matter of Amending } Resolution 94/417 & Reallocating ) Resolution No 98/479 the Salary of Board of Supervisors` } Assistant on the Salary Schedule } The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors Resolves that: WHEREAS, The Human Resources Department conducted a salary survey of positions in other agencies that provide staff support to Board of Supervisor members and an internal salary comparison with other classes in the County; and WHEREAS, The results of the study show that the salary of the Chief Assistant level of the Board of Supervisors' Assistant deep class (Level D) is low in comparison with positions in other agencies that provide staff support to Board members; and WHEREAS, The review shows that the salary differential that currently exists between the Chief Assistant and Special Assistant levels is inadequate to reflect the higher level of duties that are assigned to the Chief Assistant positions in each office; and WHEREAS, The reallocation of the salary of the Chief Assistant level on the salary schedule will recognize the level of duties being performed by the Chief Assistants; adjust the compensation of the Chief Assistant level to be more competitive with the salaries paid in other Counties; and provide a sufficient salary differential between the Chief Assistant and the next lower level in the deep class; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that effective September 1, 1998: 1. The Board of Supervisors' Assistant - Lead level shaft be retitled to Board of Supervisors' Assistant- Chief Assistant. 2. The salary of Board of Supervisors' Assistant - Chief Assistant (J995) shall be reallocated on the salary schedule from M50 - 1956 (Step 5 - Flat Rate) to M50 - 2005 (Step 5 - Flat Rate). 3. Resolution 94/417 Section H. 1. is amended to provide for only the position designation of Board of Supervisors' Assistant - Chief Assistant to be at the D Level of the Board of Supervisors' Assistant deep class.
