In accordance with Section 34-12.004 of the County's Employer-Employee Relations Resolution 81/1165, on July 27, 1993 the United Chief Officers Association (UCOA) filed a petition for Formal Recognition as representative of its members who are employed by Contra Costa County Fire Protection District. The petition qualified in that thirty percent (30%) of the Chief Officers of the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District signed the petition. Orig. Proof of employee approval exceeds the minimum thirty percent (30%) requirement for qualifying the petition. In accordance with Section 34-12.004 (2) and by copy of this memorandum, other recognized employee organizations are advised that intervention in the unit determination process and/or to appear on a representational election ballot requires thirty percent (30%) of employee approval and must be submitted to the Labor Relations Manager within twenty-ane (21) calendar days from the date of this memo. In addition, please be advised that following the intervention process, Section 34- 12.404 (3) requires the Labor Relations Manager to review the proposed unit to determine its appropriateness pursuant to the criterion set forth in Section' 34- 12.006.
