SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATIONS APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Deputy Director—Redevelopment to carry forward unexpended balances of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for Fair Housing Projects from program year 1997198 (Project Agreements HSG 97-06, and HSG 97-07) to CDBG program year 1998/99(Project Agreements HSG 98-04 and 9803). FISCAL IMPACT No General Fund impact. CDBG funds are provided to the County by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. CCLSF completed all tasks except for conducting four fair housing workshops. CCLSF has been awarded $35,000 in FY 1998/99 CDBG(HS 98-04)funds to provide additional housing services. The$2,138.00 in carryover funds to conduct the workshops will be added to CCLSF contract agreement HSG 98-04. Shelter, Inc. was awarded $33,661 in FY 1997/98 CDBG funds to provide fair housing Counseling, mediation and/or investigation services for Central and West County residents and conduct fair housing education and outreach. Shelter, Inc. completed all tasks with the exception of follow-up testing associated with fair housing. Shelter, Inc. has been awarded$40,000 in FY 1998/99 funds to provide fair housing counseling, mediation and/or investigation services for Urban County residents in FY 1998/99.
