HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 09231997 - C70 Contra TO: REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY '•� _l Costa FROM: Phil Batchelor r ' �`� County, Executive Director DATE: September 23, 1997 SUBJECT: Light Industrial Feasibility Study - Oakley Redevelopment Project Area SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATIONS ACCEPT and APPROVE the Light Industrial Feasibility Study and implementation plan for the light industrial designated portion of the Oakley Redevelopment Project area. FISCAL IMPACT No General Fund money will be used on this project. Tax increment revenue from the Oakley Redevelopment Project Area, Collect and Convey funds, State and Federal funds, and private sector funds will be used to carry out the project. Tax increment expenditures will be included in adopted Oakley Project Area budgets. BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS A major goal of the Oakley Redevelopment Plan is to facilitate economic development, stimulate and attract private investment, and create employment opportunities for area residents in the Project Area. The Light Industrial Feasibility Study has been proposed as a first crucial step in promoting economic development and revitalizing the industrial area from Neroly Road to property east of Live Oak Avenue and from Main Street to Oakley Road. On June 25, 1996, the Redevelopment Agency authorized the preparation of the study. The Oakley Municipal Advisory Council(OMAC) recommended acceptance and approval of this study at their August 11, 1997, meeting.
