THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA

ABSTAIN: None
SUBJECT: In the matter of Award of Contract for Construction of the Standby Engine
Drive Water Well No. 2, Discovery Bay Area, Project No. 7393-6X5262-83

The above-captioned project and the specifications therefor being approved,
bids being duly invited and received by the District Engineer; and
The District Engineer recommending that the bid listed first above is the
lowest responsible bid and this Board, as the governing body of Contra Costa
County, Sanitation District No. 19 concurring and so finding;
IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED, that the contract for the furnishing of labor
and materials for said work is awarded to said first listed bidder at the listed
amount and at the unit prices submitted in said bid; and that said contractor
shall present two good and sufficient surety bonds as indicated above; and that
the Sanitation District shall prepare the contract therefor.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that, after the contractor has signed the contract
and returned it together with bonds as noted above and any required certificates
of insurance or other required documents, and the District Engineer has reviewed
and found them to be sufficient, the District Engineer is authorized to sign
the contract for this Board.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that, in accordance with the project specifications
and/or upon signature of the contract by the District Engineer, any bid bonds
posted by the bidders are to be exonerated and any checks or cash submitted for
bid security shall be returned.

On recommendation of Supervisor N. C. Fanden, IT IS BY
THE BOARD ORDERED that flags on county buildings be flown at half-
mast for the remainder of the week of October 23, 1983, in memory of
the American and French soldiers who lost their lives in Beirut on
Sunday, October 23, 1983.
