RECOMMENDATION APPROVE the issuance of Change Order No. 112 to the Contract dated February 7, 1995 issued to Centex Golden Construction Co. for the Construction of a New Hospital at 2500 Alhambra Avenue, Martinez, and AUTHORIZE the County Administrator or his designee to execute the Change Order. II. FINANCIAL IMPACT Change Order No. 112 totals $47,756.00. Funds in the capital account established for the project are sufficient to cover the amount encumbered by this contract, from bond proceeds specified to the project. Bond financing for the total project cost was secured in May, 1992 in accordance with the Board of Supervisors' direction. CONTINUED ON ATTACHMENT: X YES SIGNATURE: O. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS Change Order No. 112 will provide for the following: Proposed Change Order No.516 $47,756.00 The Psychiatric Unit revisions on the 4`h floor included the installation of fixed Lexan panels over exterior operable windows for patient security. The OSHPD Fire Marshal requires an operable security window frame be installed to allow for smoke evacuation. This change modifies the 32 window frames including hinges and locks. The new guaranteed maximum cost will exceed the total estimated cost stated in the construction contract agreement approved by the Board on February 7, 1995. The new guaranteed maximum cost will total$47,831,566.00. Page 2 of 2
