Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement # 21-177-5 will allow the Contractor to provide
additional services to the Department for three consecutive months during the implementation phase
of Child Welfare Services/Case Management System (CWS/CMS). Service are currently scheduled
to be delivered from August 25, 1997 to November 25, 1997. CWS/CMS is intended to improve the
efficiency of record keeping, the accuracy of documentation, and the State and County's ability to
measure outcomes and accountability. However, it is recognized that Child Welfare case workers will
need some additional time to master the new system. Parent Aides will free case workers from time
consuming tasks which do not require their direct attention.
