Subject: Letter of Understanding Regarding Temporary Employees Holiday
Shift Pay
Dear Mr. Clarke:
This Letter of Understanding reflects the negotiated agreement reached by Contra
Costa County and Contra Costa County Employees' Association, Local One, regarding
temporary employees represented by Local One. This letter supplements the Side
Letter of May 31, 1995, which memorializes other terms and conditions of employment
for temporaries, as follows:
1. Effective the first day of the month following adoption of this Letter of
Understanding, temporary employees in the classes of Cook and Lead Cook
who are employed by the Probation Department in a 24-hour institution shall be
compensated at the rate of 1 and '/2 times regular hourly rate (time and one-half)
for all hours worked on a regularly scheduled holiday, provided that the
employee has completed at least 2080 hours service.
If the foregoing conforms to your understanding, please indicate your approval and
acceptance by signing in the space below.
