Reasons for Recommendations and Background: The Public Works Department requires the services of consultants to conduct soils investigations on an "as needed" basis for various projects throughout the County. The amendment will enable the Public Works Department to efficiently complete the contaminated soil cleanup of it's maintenance corporation yard in Richmond. Utilizing the current consultant will allow for the continuation of services in progress without requiring costs for renegotiation or startup. The Consultant has stated its intent to meet the agency's Minority and Women in Business Enterprises goals in their proposal submitted for this additional work. IV. Consequences of Negative Action: Without this amendment a new Consulting Services Agreement must be negotiated at additional cost to the County.
