III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background (cont'd):
D. Repair status:
1. Plans and specifications for the first phase of the repair, an earth buttress, were completed
on July 31. Bids were received on August 13, and a contract, in the amount of$638,525,
was awarded to the low bidder, Ford Construction Company, Inc. Work began on

October. Staff is continuing to negotiate for right of way needed for construction of the
drainage gallery.
