SUBJECT: Approval of Novation Contract #24-259-29 with
Center for Human Development
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) 8c BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee
(Chuck Deutschman) , to execute on behalf of the County, Novation
Contract #24-259-29 with Center for Human Development, for the
period from July 1, 1996 through June 30, 1997 , with a payment limit
of $488,942 , for provision of Substance Abuse Primary Prevention
Program services. This Contract includes a six-month automatic.
extension through December 31, 1997, in the amount of $244 , 471.
II. FINANCIAL IMPACT:
This Contract is included in the Health Services Department budget,
to be funded as follows:
$449,752 Federal Block Grant (SAPT & DFSC)
39 , 190 County Realignment
$488,942 TOTAL
III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND:
This Contractor has been providing drug and alcohol program services
for the County for many years. Approval of Novation Contract
#24-259-29 replaces the six-month contract automatic extension of
the prior contract, and allows the Contractor to continue to provide
substance abuse primary prevention services through June 30, 1997 .
