HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 09101996 - AJ2 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Honoring the ) Memory of James ("Jimmy") ) Resolution 96/ 409 Simmons ) WHEREAS, James ( "Jimmy") Simmons resided in Richmond for over 46 years; and WHEREAS, Mr. Simmons was active in the Richmond Community as an entertainment and boxing promoter; and WHEREAS, Mr. Simmons was a middleweight fighter from 1944 to 1947; and WHEREAS, Mr. Simmons is survived by two daughters, two sons, 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, a great-great grandchild and a great-great-great grandchild; and Now, therefore be it resolved that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County does join with family and friends in honoring the memory of Jimmy Simmons, his passing is a loss to the Richmond Community and to the County of Contra Costa. Be it further resolved that the Board of Supervisors adjourn its September 10, 1996 meeting in memory of Jimmy Simmons. PASSED AND ADOP'T'ED on September 10, 1996,by a unanimous vote of the Board members present.
