HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 08061996 - P2 k IN THE MATTER OF HONORING ] RESOLUTION NO. 96/332 BLODGETT'S FLOOR COVERING ] FOR 50 YEARS IN BUSINESS ] IN CONTRA COSTA COUNTY ] WHEREAS, Blodgett's Floor Covering is a family run business that has served families, 'businesses and commercial customers with an attitude of "treating all of our customers like family, treat them fairly and they will be customers for life"; and WHEREAS, Blodgett's Floor Covering is a family business originally started by company founder, Kermit Blodgett, in 1946. The business continues to be run by family members including: George and Lou Blodgett, Kermit's son and daughter-in-law, Larry Blodgett, the grandson of Kermit, an aunt, Beverly Hanawalt and cousin, Donna Hanawalt; and WHEREAS, Blodgett's Floor Covering has been an active member of the community through service on many service organizations including: Rotary International, Soroptomists, the Garden Club, Boy Scouts of America, the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce and supported several local Youth Athletics leagues and schools; and WHEREAS, Blodgett's Floor Covering participates in many of the professional and trade associations to maintain their expertise including the American Institute of Architects, the East Bay Carpet, Linoleum, and Soft Tile Layers Union Local 1290, the World Floor Covering Association, the Quarter Century Club, the Better Business Bureau and the National Association of the Remodeling Industry; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County does hereby honor, commend, and congratulate BZODGETT'S FLOOR COVERING for 50 years of outstanding service to the community.
