HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 08131996 - C55 C•ss TO: REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY/BOARD OF SUPERVISORS Contra _ Costa FROM: Phil Batchelor s County Executive Director r �� DATE: August 13, 1996 SUBJECT: Median Landscaping Improvements (Willow Pass Road and Port Chicago Highway), Bay Point Redevelopment Project Area SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATIONS APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Deputy Director - Redevelopment and the Director of General Services, or his designee, to sign a contract on behalf of the Redevelopment Agency and Contra Costa County respectively for construction of median landscaping improvements at the intersection of Willow Pass Road and Port Chicago, Highway in the Bay Point Redevelopment Project Area. FISCAL IMPACT. - No General Fund money will be used on this project. The Redevelopment Agency will reimburse the County Public Works Department for expenditures up to $103,276. This project was included in the adopted budget. BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS A major redevelopment activity in Bay Point is to- improve and upgrade the existing infrastructure. The intersection of Willow Pass Road and Port Chicago Highway is the gateway to Bay Point. Median landscape improvements which enhance this prominent area and will benefit the image of Bay Point. The project is being completed in conjunction with Measure C funds.
