The Crockett pool was constructed in 1966. Now, 30 years later, the water filtration system no longer works and parts for this antiquated system are no longer manufactured. So, the Crockett Recreation Association(CRA)looked into retrofitting the existing filtration system. However,they learned that to redo the filtration system also meant redoing the entire plumbing system, and this then became quite an expensive proposition. The best alternative was to purchase a portable system that would filter the water at the rate required by current codes. The pool vacuum that CRA purchased measures approximately 4 feet tall,weighs approximately 125 pounds and has a filtering radius of 150 square feet(see enclosed photocopy). The Crockett pool is approximately 2,750 square feet. With the new pool vacuum,all of the water in the pool is filtered in a 6-hour period of time. The pool is filtered four times in 24 hours,meeting current codes. I hope this serves to clarify the purpose and need for this filtration system. Once again,we request the transfer of$1,182.98 in Park Dedication Fees, secured from Census Tract No. 3570, to the Crockett Recreation Association,P.O.
