SUBJECT: Election Consolidation
As requested by Frances Miller-Rogers, District Secretary,
Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District in a letter dated June 14,
1996, IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that the County Clerk is
AUTHORIZED to consolidate the election of certain members of the
Board of Directors of the Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District
with the November 5, 1996, General Election.

Dear Chair Smith:
Pursuant to the provisions of the Public Utilities Code, the Board of Directors of the
Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District has called a General District Election to be held
on Tuesday, November 5, 1996, for the purpose of electing two (2) Directors and
requested the consolidation of this election with the General State Election to be held
on the same day.
Two certified copies of Resolution No. 947, adopted by the Board of Directors on
Wednesday, April 24, 1996, covering this matter are enclosed for your attention.

RESOLUTION NO. 947
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE ALAMEDA-CONTRA COSTA
TRANSIT DISTRICT GIVING NOTICE OF GENERAL DISTRICT ELECTION TO BE
HELD ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 1996, FOR THE ELECTION OF THREE (3)
DIRECTORS
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Public Utilities Code of
the State of California, a General District Election shall be held
on Tuesday, November 5, 1996, for -the election of Members of the
Board of Directors of the District; and
NOW, THEREFORE, THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF ALAMEDA-CONTRA COSTA
TRANSIT DISTRICT RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to the requirements of the Public
Utilities Code of the State of California, there is called and
ordered to be held in the territory of the district within the
AlamPda ar d Con_txp 17r+ata. nn Tu?.day. Nnvemher 5.
1996, a General District Election for the purpose of electing
three (3) Members of the Board of Directors for the full term
of four years.
SECTION 2. The three (3) members of the Board of Directors
to be elected at said election shall include one Director from
each- of'-Wards Nos. I, II, and one Director at Large. Ward
Directors shall be elected from their respective Wards as
established by Resolution No. 802 adopted by the Board of
Directors on June 24, 1992. Candidates for the office of
Director at Large shall be voted on at large in that every
qualified voter in the District may vote for one candidate to
be elected Director at Large.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption by four affirmative votes of the
Board of Directors.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 24th day of April, 1996.
