MERRITHEW MEMORIAL HOSPITAL REPLACEMENT PROJECT (WH580B)
III . BACKGROUND
This change represents four extra services . Two items, the elevator
manufacturer substitution and modifications to the floating floor slab,
were initiated by the contractor for its convenience . The cost of the
Architect' s time to review these two items was the contractor' s
responsibility. The County will recoup these costs with credit change
orders . Changes to a piece of radiology equipment was necessary due to
model changes which occurred between design and the time the equipment
was ordered. These changes required additional design services to check
such items as structural support and equipment placement in the room.
The security requirements for the psych wards became more complex than
initially anticipated when design began. As a result additional design
work was required.
