SUBJECT: Approval of Standard Contract #26-231-5 with
ATC Healthcare Services, Inc.
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee
(Frank Puglisi, Jr. ) , to execute on behalf of the County, Standard
Contract #26-231-5 with ATC Healthcare Services, Inc. , (formerly
MEDPRO Professional Staff Nurses) , in the amount of $50, 000, for the
period from August 1, 1996 through July 31, 1997, to provide nursing
registry services at Merrithew Memorial Hospital and Health Centers.
II. FINANCIAL IMPACT:
This contract is included in the Health Services Department
Enterprise I budget.
III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONSLBACKGROUND:
For several years the County has contracted with nursing registries
to provide temporary licensed nursing personnel to assist Merrithew
Memorial Hospital and Health Centers during peak loads, temporary
absences, and emergency situations.
Approval of Standard Contract #26-231-5 will ensure the Department' s
ability to provide nursing care for the County' s .patients through
July 31, 1997 .
