SUBJECT. Authorizing Execution of Contract ( #19-2020-0) with County
Office of Education for the provision of Job Development
Services
SPECIFIC REQUESTS)OR RECOMMENOATION(S)i BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I . RECOMMENDATION
Authorize the Executive Director, Contra Costa County
Private Industry Council, to execute on behalf of the
County a standard form contract ( #19-2020-0) with the
County Office of Education for Job Development and
Placement Services for the period of July 1, 1995 through
December 31, 1995 with a payment limit of $59 ,672 , subject
to approval by County Counsel as to legal form.
II . FINANCIAL IMPACT
None. 100 percent federal and state funds.
III . REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND
The Contra Costa Private Industry Council (PIC) Department
and the Social Service Department have entered into a
standard form interdepartmental agreement for the PIC to
provide job development and placement services to GAIN
participants from July 1, 1995 through June 30, 1996. This
request will allow the PIC to fulfill its obligation for
GAIN participant in the West County Area. Even though the
interdepartmental agreement is for one year, this contract
term is for six months due to the uncertainty of the impact
of possible federal changes to the JOBS and JTPA programs
and the initiation of One Stop Centers. However, it is
currently not anticipated that this flexibility will be
needed, hence this contract will probably be extended in
December with a payment limit increase to a. full twelve
month term.
