(Hours for Solicitors and Peddlers)
The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors ordains as
follows (omitting the parenthetical footnotes from the official
text of the enacted or amended provisions of the County Ordinance
Code) :
SECTION I: Purpose . The time restrictions in the current ordi-
nance have been declared unconstitutional and this ordinance
repeals those provisions . (See Alternatives for Calif. Women v.
Contra Costa County [ 1983] 145 C .A. 3d 436 ?- 193 C.R. 3
SECTION II : Section 56-4.408 of the County Ordinance Code is
amended , to delete "or (2) Between sunset and sunrise," to read:
56-4.408 Permit-Restricted Premises . No per-
son shall peddle or solicit at any premises which
are posted with a clearly visible sign bearing the
words "No Peddlers or Solicitors" or words of the
same import .

SECTION III: EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance becomes effective 30
days after passage, and within 15 days of passage shall be
published once with the names of supervisors voting for and
against it in the MARTINEZ NEWS-GAZETTE a newspaper
published in this County.
PASSED ON October 18, 1983 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors - Powers, Fanden, McPeak, Torlakson, Schroder.
NOES: Supervisors - None.
