RE: Vacancies on Human Relations Commission (HRC)
Dear Supervisors,
Government Code Sec. 26-8.014(c) states that a vacancy shall exist on the Human
Relations Commission whenever a commissioner has three consecutive absences from
regular meetings of the Commission. Furthermore, this section also requires that in the
event of this occurrence, that it be reported to the Board of Supervisors. In accordance
with this ordinance I hereby report to you that the following HRC commissioners have
missed three consecutive regular meetings: Ben A. Brooks-Johnston, John B. Greene,
Jr., Julia Hernandez and Anthony Williams.
Citing health reasons, Rev. Curtis A. Timmons has resigned from the Commission.
Brenda M. Blasingame, because of her pregnancy, has also resigned. Sheila Fish has
also communicated her resignation from the Commission. These three commissioners
were dedicated and hardworking members of the Commission and will be missed.
Sincerely,
Timothy M. Dayonot
Chair, Human Relations Commission
