T ELAS, Elder Slaughter was born in Arizona and came to Pittsburg, Cafiforn4 in
1945. Yfe was employed 6y Shell Oil Company in 9Kartinez for 33 years until his retirement in 1980.
.Ile was a Safety Inspector andtheirfirst BfackToreman.
UMET,,EAS, he is the (Pastor of Liberty Church of God in Christ in Bay Point where his
devoted wife, Pear, works with him .Ife is the father of seven children and seventeen grandchildren;
WMEUAS, Elder Slaughter has been involved in many community activities, among
those are board member of the Food Coalition of Pittsburg, Founder of the Pittsburg Community
Fellowship.Your,former President of the YinisterialAlliance, Coordinator of the Dr. Yartin Luther
King Commemoration Program, and member of the Executive Board of Delta 2000. 9fe also serves as
the chaplain for the Pittsburg(Police Department,
1VJ EUAS, Elder Slaughter helped organized and Lead several candle light marches
against drugs;
UNEREAS, in 1983, Elder Dan Slaughter, Sr., received the 'Numanitarian of the Tear'
Award:
`c�.XEP,EAS, he served his country in the Zlnited States Army; stationed in Korea for 14
months and was awarded three Bronze Stars.
