as Code Enforcement Week )
Whereas, the County of Contra Costa has long supported policies and actions for
a clean, litter free environment which enhances the quality of life for its residents;
Whereas, the Assembly and Senate of the State of California concurred in
proclaiming the week of September 24 through September 30, 1994 as Code
lrOorveneent Week
Whereas, the Assembly and Senate of the State of California have urged all
Californians to recognize and support code enforcement officials statewide for their
efforts to improve the quality of life in our state;
Whereas, the code enforcement profession is assisting those efforts;
Whereas, code enforcement plays an integral role in maintaining a high quality of
life for Contra Costa property owners by increasing safety,preventing deterioration,
removing blight and protecting property values throughout the County; and
Whereas, by calling attention to the following county agencies who are engaged in
code enforcement activities Building Inspector, Property Conservation Division,
Public Works, County Fire Districts, Sheriff, Abandoned Vehicle Abatement
Program,Health Services Department and County Administrator's Office, the Board
of Supervisors of Contra Costa County recognize the code enforcement effort as a
worthy commitment to a prosperous and viable future;
Now Zherefore Be It Resolved that we, the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa
County, do hereby designate
September 24 - 30, 1994
Code Enforcement Week
and urges all Contra Costa property owners and businesses to recognize the need
for, and support of, code, enforcement in our County.
Passed and Adopted on September 27, 1994, by a unanimous vote of the Board
members present.
