The Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County RESOLVES THAT:
Pursuant to Ordinance Code Section 522-2 . 206 (part of Chapter
522. 2 added to the Ord. Code by Ord. #83-16 [6-10-83] ) , the County
Sealer (Director) of Weights and Measures is responsible for collec-
ting the Weights & Measures Devices Registration Fees imposed by that
Chapter 522-2 , and is authorized to promulgate regulations to effec-
tuate that Chapter.
Therefore, the Sealer (Director) and his duly authorized deputies
are hereby authorized to sue in Small Claims Courts on behalf of the
County for recovery of such fees (plus lawful penalties and costs)
whenever he deems it appropriate. Further he is specifically author-
ized to promulgate a regulation that such fees become delinquent and
subject to suit for recovery 30 days after mailing of a notice to
that effect to the business address or other known address of the
owner , possessor or user of the device on which the fee is due, or
after posting such notice on or near the device.
