I can only offer this notes as my s4.Ai:7f:>titute. I very much wished to bring to your attention three primary pertinent points, as ftea1lowsg First, and foremost, this report addresses, ONLY housing provided de~d forY (or funded) 4y the t;OI...ICdTY. All other housing options for the Nec_crobiologicall.y disabled ars: EXC:L_UDED. This information was provided to me by the then-chair, Vi Smith. Second, the report casually mentions small Board .and Cares funded by the County th•ia't, leave their premises unsupervised. This action would be considered a serious violation by the State? L...i.cc::•rns:>:i.ng Agency and could result in the Board and Carie home„5 losing it 's licensing. Third, in reference to the dismal results of the client satisfaction survey, I can only stress the •far..:'t that the information applies only to housing provided, or funded by they County. We were emtremely disappointed •that NONE, of our over 100; clients, had an opportunity to participate in thi._. survey. Perhaps future Housing Reports might includes a section on non government 'funded housing.. County Housing for the neurobiologicaI ly disabled has been traditionally priced in the millions, resulting in minimal out puss and low c:::I :i.esnt satisfaction. Often, the projects are converted from filling the car^:iginial need to ra less func.tiona.l. purpose, Bay Are Homes Network (Btll•••N) , a private non-profit agency, would be happy to participate in any informational sessions to earnestly pursue quality, cost-effective housing options 1-04 o/ /V'S 9 Page •-- 1 I - LD . . - P =~ , . . for the neurobio1ogically disabled. BAHN has been involved in developing options that work for nearly four years. Several persons employed by the County have stated that we need to have a County liason, or be funded by the County in order for them to work with us. Therefore we would like to have more information in how to get a County liason. Who would we contact to get more information on the 100 new specialized section 8 vouchers, targeted for this County. We would be happy to address the Board on this subject at your convenience should you desire more information. Sincerely; Frances Wage Bay Area Homes Network Page - 2
