APPOINT to the newly created seat on the Keller Canyon Landfill Citizens Advisory Committee, representing the Pittsburg Preschool Coordinating Council : The Rev. Frank L. Selkirk, PhD 5052 Rodeo Circle Antioch, CA 94509 BACKGROUND: The Keller Canyon Landfill Citizens Advisory Committee currently has 10 members, appointed to staggered two-year terms, in accordance with the Committee' s by-laws . These members are nominated by specified organizations in order to insure that specific interests are represented on the Committee. Two of the organizations have asked that their representative be changed. A new organization, the Pittsburg Preschool Coordinating Council, has asked to have a seat on the Committee. On July 12, 1994 , the Board of Supervisors extended the sunset for the Keller Canyon Landfill Citizens Advisory Committee to January 31, 1995 . The Committee will be abolished automatically at that point without further action from the Board of Supervisors . Bragdon, Director By: Deidra Dingman, Planner SUBJECT: CHANGES IN THE COMPOSITION OF AND THE APPOINTMENTS TO THE KELLER CANYON LANDFILL LOCAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE The Delta Association of Realtors has asked that a new representative replace the existing representative for the Keller Canyon Landfill Local Advisory Committee. The existing member, Betty Galindo, has resigned from the Committee because she is entering "semi-retirement" and therefore the Delta Association of Realtors Board of Directors have appointed a new representative, Roger Riley. The July 18, 1994 letter from the Delta Association of Realtors is attached. The Inter-Denominational Ministerial Alliance of Pittsburg, Inc. has asked that a new representative replace the existing representative for the Keller Canyon Landfill Local Advisory Committee. The existing member, Reverend Curtis Timmons, is no longer the president of the organization; the new president, Reverend Lynn E. Kirkland, would like to be the representative. The July 18, 1994 letter from the Inter-Denominational Ministerial Alliance is attached. The Preschool Coordinating Council has asked to have a seat added to the Keller Canyon Landfill Local Advisory Committee. They have appointed Reverend Frank L. Selkirk, PhD to be their representative. The Keller Canyon Landfill Local Advisory Committee discussed this request for a new seat at their July 20, 1994 meeting and the Committee expressed no objection to the request. The July 21, 1994 letter from the Preschool Coordinating Council and the application form from Reverend Selkirk are attached. Therefore, staff recommends that the Board of Supervisors: 1. ACCEPT the resignation of Betty Galindo as the representative of the Delta Association of Realtors on the Keller Canyon Landfill Local Advisory Committee.
