There are currently five vacant at-large seats on the Women' s Advisory Committee. The vacant seats are at-large seats #5, #13, #14, #18, and #20 . The Advisory Committee has recruited, screened, interviewed and is recommending two of the individuals whose applications are attached. The third individual is recommended by Supervisor DeSaulnier' s staff on the basis of interviews for his appointment to the Women' s Advisory Committee. On August 8, 1994 our Committee had interviews set for six individuals . Two were unable to be present and three have since withdrawn from consideration. The sixth was appointed on August 16, 1994 . We invited the other two to meet with our Committee on August 22, 1994 . On August 22, 1994 our Committee interviewed Ms . Nakisher and believe that she is interested, knowledgeable and concerned about women' s issues, particularly those presented by single, employed women and by teen parents . While Ms . Willner was unable to be present for the interview, in reviewing her application we believe that she is well qualified for the Women' s Advisory Committee. We are also recommending the appointment of Ms . Ray on the basis of her interview with Supervisor DeSaulnier' s staff and with the approval of the staff to the Women' s Advisory Committee. cc : County Administrator Barbara Jensen, Staff to the Women' s Advisory Committee Ms .
