MICHAEL WALFORD,PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR DATE: SEPTEMBER 13, 1994 SUBJECT: APPROVE FINAL AND BALANCING CHANGE ORDER FOR FERMA CORPORATION FOR BYRON HOT SPRINGS ROAD RELOCATION AT CONTRA COSTA COUNTY-BYRON AIRPORT- AIP 3-06-0008-05, IN THE AMOUNT OF $31,342. SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATIONS)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION I. Recommended Action: APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or his designee, to execute Final and Balancing Change Order to compensate the contractor, Ferma Corporation. II. Financial Impact: This Change Order requires an adjustment of $31,342.80 to the contract price of $288,638.55 resulting in an amended contract price of$319,981.35. III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background: The purpose of this contract Change Order is to balance pay items and adjust the total contract price to reflect actual in-place quantities versus estimated quantities. Additionally, extra road signs, as directed by the Resident Engineer, were required. Also, as required by Contra Costa County Road Standards, the cattle guards needed widening to 34 feet resulting in a price adjustment of $25,799.90.
