CONTRA COSTA CO.
Contra Costa County
Board of Supervisors

To the members of the board:
While taking a Publ•ic .Health nursing class I had the
opportunity of working within the- Foster Care system of
Contra Costa County.
I am truly amazed by the love, dedication, and hard work all
the members of the team: foster parents, social workers,
nurses and physicians provide these very vulnerable
children. However, the needs of these children and their
caretakers are rapidly going beyond the present resources.
I gave a speech based on my experiences with the Foster Care
system in a Public Speaking class. The attached letter is
the outcome of that presentation.
I will be glad to share with the Board my findings if
requested. In any case, I believe that each of you
individually, as well as, a group will make these children a
priority.
Thank you for your time and attention.
